The Rise of the Guardians Movie Spiritual Meaning and Review.

Rise of the Guardians
I finally had a weekend where I wasn’t running all over Manhattan Beach shopping or doing errands. I stopped at the Red Box and ordered some movies on the way home from work Friday.  I like family movies from time to time.  Actually family movies are for everyone because adult actors play the roles of the creatures in most of the movies.  I noticed a cool one: Rise of the Guardians.  I had seen a billboard for Rise of the Guardians when it was in theaters and for whatever reason I wanted to see it.  I am sure my spirit was aware that good things were in the movie.
After my early morning walk on the track (Two Miles) and buying $5.00 worth of veggies at the Farmer’s market, I went home to relax before my massage.  It was still morning so I popped in the DVD. As the movie started I really wasn’t paying attention.  I was looking at post on my Instagram and Twitter.  Really not paying attention to the movie at all. Then I started listening to the dialogue of the movie.
The main character Jack Frost was talking to the moon.  Talking to the moon is an odd thing to do, but this was an animated movie so I am sure there was a reason.  He kept saying “You put me here.” “Tell me why I am here.”  The moon never answered him.  I felt his pain and I was keyed in for the rest of the movie.  Immediately I got the deeper meaning of the movie.  This kid movie was more about divine purpose, God, and the Holy Spirit.  Yes! I was hooked.
I knew for a fact that this movie was about God when I connected that Jack Frost had been chosen by the moon.  Isn’t that how God does things.  He chooses us for a specific purpose.  We are God’s children his chosen generation.  Each and every one of us is chosen by God.  Even though we are chosen, confusion does happen.
Since Jack does not realize that he is chosen, his journey begins.  Jack Frost is connected to the other guardians, but because he is a bit lost he is unaware of his purpose.  The other Guardians include Santa, The Easter Bunny, Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy.  The other guardians know who they are and whose they are as they move merrily through life.  Everything that they do is connected to their purpose.  Their purpose is connected to the belief that people have in them no matter what the circumstance.  Jack is not always believed in, so he causes mischief wherever he goes.  This is why Jack feels so alone, lost, and forgotten.
We all have times in our adult lives where we experience feelings of being lost, alone, forgotten, and downtrodden.  Some points in life cause us to feel this more than other times.  Jack knew that he did not want to continue to live his life in sadness.  He wanted to feel his purpose.  He wanted to know his purpose.  He wanted to be belived in and to believe in something bigger inside himself.  The good thing was that he still believed in his source, in this case it was the moon.
Since he was unaware of who he was he was totally invisible.  None of the kids could see or feel him.  The only people that could see him where the other guardians because they possessed the same gift he possessed.  Not everyone knows that you are special and they really won’t know if you do not know yourself.  Picture that! It’s all related to your own understanding of our existence.
Here is where the Holy Spirit comes in.  Santa takes Jack to the side to help him understand the power he has within and his purpose.  He shows Jack a Russian Doll toy.  Jack begins to pull off all the tops of the dolls until he gets to the baby doll.  When he gets to the baby doll.  Santa yells, “Look at the eyes. That’s me filled with wonder.  I am here to bring wonder.”  Then he continues to tell Jack that he will find his purpose.  Santa knows he will because he knows that that purpose is in Jacks belly.  He says, “It will come from your belly.”  If you have ever been to a Holy Spirit Filled church they tell you the Holy Spirit comes from your belly.  Your belly is your center; many believe it’s where your spirit resides.
Finally Jack is able to slowly figure out his purpose.  Figuring out your purpose takes time. It does not happen overnight.  We find out by getting connected to our source, our God.  He also begins to connect to his past; the memories that help him become the man he was destined to be.  See Jack’s past was so buried in his mind that he did not know who he was or the reason he was even Jack Frost.  Don’t we all forget those hurtful memories from days and years ago, only to realize that we need them all to be our best self?
Learning from his past pain and hurt, he realizes that he is alive to bring, FUN!  Once he has locked in on his purpose of fun.  Sadness, shame, and fear could no longer reside in his belly, his center.  Jack begins to believe in himself.  As soon as he believes in himself everyone else begins to believe in Jack as well.  Once Jack Believes he is able to save the world and live happily in his purpose.
Rise of the Guardians was a great movie.  I suggest that everyone go rent it from Red box or Download it from Amazon.  Watch it with an open mind and an open spirit.  Let your purpose rise!!!
